Mission Courtyard by Randy Peyton ~ Known as the "Jewel of the California Missions", the Mission San Juan Capistrano, located on 10 acres near the shores of the Pacific Ocean, halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles, California is beautiful, charming, and romantic. Founded on November 1, 1776 by Padre Junipero Serra, it is the seventh of 21 Spanish Missions established in California by Franciscan Padres.

The serenity and peace amid lush gardens and cool fountains, cloistered by old adobe walls offer seclusion from a busy world. In mid March of each year, swallows arrive at the Mission to nest. Legend says the swallows, seeking sanctuary from an innkeeper who destroyed their nests, took up residence at the Mission. They return to the Mission each yeah knowing their young can be safe within the Mission walls. Each of the 50 canvas prints are hand-embellished by the artist.
