A Stroll in Shockoe Slip by John M. Barber ~ In this present day scene a young couple strolls are in arm along the centuries-old brick walkway on the 1400 block of East Cary Street in Richmonds’ historic Shockoe Slip. Later afternoon sunshine fills this popular downtown destination, which features quaint shops, hotels, businesses and restaurants. Shockoe Slip is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
