Windy Morning by John P. Cowan ~ "Our blinds along the outside of Traylor Island were particularly good when a norther hit. The large concentration of sprigs (pintails) that normally crowded Redfish Bay on the other side of the island would start to work up and down the outside on a cold front. Our blinds were slightly offshore the long, narrow island on a shallow sandbar. They were not very effective on a prevailing southeast wind but perfect for a norther. An airboat can be particularly dangerous in rough, open water so we avoided our blinds across the bay in windy weather. Our Traylor Island blinds, however, could easily be reached by airboat when hunting was at its best." - John P. Cowan
