The backdrop is a valley called Pondon Kirk that leads onto Howarth Moor, an area close to my childhood home and one made famous by the nineteenth century literary family, the Brontes. It provided the setting for Wuthering Heights. This is an appropriate setting for a springer spaniel as the moor is an excellent habitat for game birds, especially grouse, and the surrounding valleys provide the type of rough shooting at which the breed excels." - Steven Townsend
